- Start-up: feasibility/business case and project charter
- Planning: project plan with project breakdown structure (WBS), schedule, budget, role and responsibility, risk register
- Implementation, monitoring and control: detailed plan, progress monitoring with performance indicators, change request management, progress reports and accountability
- Closure: post-mortem
