This course is intended for Azure administrators who migrate and manage SAP solutions to Azure.
Training objectives
- Migrate SAP HANA, S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver to Azure
- Leverage Azure portal, Cloud Shell, Azure PowerShell, CLI, and Resource Manager
- Use cross-premises connectivity capabilities, including VNet Peering and VNet to VNet connections

Summary
This course teaches IT professionals experienced in SAP solutions on how to leverage Azure resources, which includes deploying and configuring virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and Azure AD, which includes implementing and managing hybrid identities. You'll learn concepts, scenarios, procedures, and hands-on labs on how to plan and implement the migration and operation of an SAP solution on Azure. You will receive guidance on registrations, creating and upgrading virtual machines, implementing storage solutions, configuring virtual networks, backing up and sharing data, connecting Azure and on-premises sites, managing network traffic, implementing Azure Active Directory, Securing identities and monitoring your solution.
Course outline
Module 1: Describe the fundamental concepts of Azure
Students will learn about the partnership between Microsoft and SAP, explore an overview of Azure for SAP workloads, and learn common terms and meanings.
Module 2: Azure Foundations for SAP workloads

- Azure networks, identity services, and governance and management.
Module 3: SAP Certified Offerings on Azure
- Contains lessons on general prerequisites (support for SAP in public cloud environments),

Contains lessons on monitoring and troubleshooting Azure VMs, and on support requests.
Approach and methodology
Practical and structured approach combining focused theory and guided workshops. Participants plan and progressively deploy SAP solutions in Azure through real-world exercises inspired by business scenarios, promoting immediate application of learnings. They learn how to design adapted architectures, migrate SAP environments and optimize performance, availability and security on Azure. Led by a Microsoft certified trainer, the training focuses on interactivity and the development of directly transferable technical skills to deploy and administer SAP in the cloud in a professional context.
Prerequisites
Students should possess a strong knowledge of SAP application implementation, migration, and administration, with prior experience with Linux operating systems, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, storage structures, and networking.
Specifically: Previous experience:
- Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions, including VMs, VNets, Load Balancers, Storage (Blob, Files, Disks).
- Understanding of on-premises and cloud virtualization technologies, including: VMs, virtual networks, and virtual hard disks.
- Understanding of network configuration, including TCP/IP, Domain Name System (DNS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), firewalls, and encryption technologies.
- Understanding of Active Directory concepts
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP APPLICATIONS, SAP HANA, S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP BW, OS servers for SAP applications and databases.
- Understanding of SAP HANA deployment and configuration.
- Hands-on experience administering SAP HANA
- AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals or equivalent content
